Before the First Bell Rings, La Joya ISD Invests in Campus Leaders Through Leadership Academy
La Joya, TX - Long before classrooms fill with students, La Joya ISD is investing in the people who help shape the success of every campus. This week, principals and assistant principals from across the district gathered for the 2026 Leadership Academy, a three-day professional learning experience designed to strengthen instructional leadership, foster collaboration, and prepare campus leaders for a successful school year.
Centered around the theme "Boots on the Ground: Leading with Heart," the academy equips administrators with the tools, strategies, and shared vision needed to lead with purpose while advancing student achievement across the district.
Throughout the academy, campus leaders are participating in collaborative sessions focused on strengthening instructional leadership, clarifying leadership roles, prioritizing high-impact work, analyzing student data, and aligning campus goals with La Joya ISD's Achieving Excellence Together: 2030 Strategic Plan. Participants are also exploring the district's Problem of Practice for the 2026-2027 school year, reinforcing a unified approach to continuous improvement and academic excellence.

"Our Leadership Academy is about more than preparing for the first day of school - it's about equipping our principals and assistant principals with the knowledge, support, and collaborative mindset needed to create exceptional learning environments where students and staff can thrive.”
Sessions throughout the academy encourage administrators to reflect on their leadership practices while collaborating with colleagues to identify strategies that strengthen school culture, improve instructional outcomes, and support the diverse needs of students and staff.
