La Joya, TX - Before welcoming thousands of students back into classrooms, La Joya ISD's campus leaders spent three days preparing for one of their most important responsibilities: creating learning environments where every student has the opportunity to succeed. Through the district's 2026-2027 Leadership Academy, principals and assistant principals from across La Joya ISD came together to strengthen their leadership, deepen collaboration, and align their vision for the upcoming school year.

Centered around the theme "Boots on the Ground: Leading with Heart," the academy served as both a celebration of leadership and a launchpad for the 2026-2027 school year, reinforcing the district's unwavering commitment to student achievement, continuous improvement, and educational excellence.

Throughout the three-day academy, campus leaders participated in engaging professional learning sessions focused on strengthening instructional leadership, building high-performing leadership teams, establishing role clarity, prioritizing instructional excellence, analyzing student data, and aligning campus goals with La Joya ISD's Achieving Excellence Together: 2030 Strategic Plan.

The sessions provided opportunities to explore the district's Portrait of a Principal, review leadership frameworks, preview the annual Data Scorecard, and identify strategies for fostering positive school cultures where students and staff can thrive.

Ultimately, the greatest beneficiaries of this work are our students."

The academy also provided valuable opportunities for campus leaders to collaborate with district administrators and colleagues, exchange best practices, strengthen professional relationships, and develop innovative strategies that will positively impact teaching and learning across the district.

Principals and Assistant Principals will return to their campuses equipped with renewed purpose, strengthened leadership practices, and a unified commitment to serving students, families, and staff with excellence.
