A Message from your LIbrarian

Welcome to your Library!
As the school year winds down and summer stretches out before us, I wanted to send a warm message to all our amazing students, families, and staff. While our elementary school library won't be open during the summer break, that doesn't mean our love for reading has to take a vacation!
Summer is a fantastic time to relax, recharge, and explore new adventures – and what better way to do that than with a great book in hand? To help you keep those pages turning, I highly encourage you to visit your local public library! They have fantastic summer reading programs, exciting events, and a vast collection of books to keep you entertained and learning all summer long.
Remember, reading just a little bit each day can make a big difference in keeping your mind sharp and ready for the next school year. Look for opportunities to read for pleasure, explore different genres, and even share stories with your family and friends.
While I won't be seeing you in our school library until August, I'll be busy behind the scenes getting everything ready for an even more exciting year of reading when you return! I'll be organizing new books, planning engaging activities, and making sure our library is the best it can be for you.
I wish you all a safe, happy, and book-filled summer! I look forward to hearing about all your reading adventures when we're back in the fall.
Happy Reading!
Warm regards,
Vanessa Skelton, Elodia R. Chapa Elementary School Librarian
