On April 27, 2023 La Joya ISD held its La Joya ISD Police Department Dedication Ceremony to honor Officer JJ Morales "KILO 1". We had the opportunity to express our appreciation for the exemplary work done by one of our own, Police Officer JJ Morales “KILO 1”. Our Police Department strives to provide excellence in safety by working collaboratively with the community and district to address crime. This meant that we honored an individual because their work and ethic was truly exceptional. Thank you to the Morales Family and everyone who contributed to this memorable event.

Exciting Saturday morning at La Joya ISD!! Our new Interim Superintendent of Schools Mr. Beto Gonzalez along with our Board of Trustees President Alejandro “Alex” Cantu and Board Member Esmeralda Solis got to visit the lovely community of Sam Fordyce Elementary in Sullivan City, where their Cycle 10 ACE program conducted a fantastic Girls Empowerment Conference.
Mr. Gonzalez surprised our Girls Empowerment Conference attendees with a visit and some words of affirmation, and he was easily able to urge them to believe in themselves, value their strengths, and captivate their self-worth.
These subtle details make a tremendous difference to our students. Congratulation to Sam Fordyce Elementary and the Cycle 10 Ace Program for hosting such a motivational event! Together, we are transforming lives and setting La Joya ISD students up for success.
