On December 19, 2024, JFK Elementary welcomed a very special visitor—Hero the Recycling Buddy from the City of Alton! 🌍♻️ Hero’s visit was the perfect way to wrap up the PreK3 students' Recycling Unit, combining education and fun to leave a lasting impression on the young learners.

The little ones were all smiles as Hero shared engaging lessons about the importance of recycling and how small actions can make a big difference in protecting the environment. Through interactive activities and relatable examples, Hero empowered students to become thoughtful stewards of the Earth.

The visit was not only informative but also inspiring. Hero’s enthusiasm for sustainability sparked excitement and curiosity among the students, who eagerly learned about sorting recyclables, reducing waste, and reusing items in creative ways.

“Thank you, Hero, for inspiring our future environmental champions!” shared JFK Principal, Lora Cantu . “Our students had a wonderful time, and we’re confident this experience will stay with them as they grow into responsible community members.”

This special event highlighted the power of early education in fostering environmental awareness, showing that even the youngest among us can contribute to creating a greener, more sustainable world. 💚🌟
